About Me
I am originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and came to Indiana when I decided to attend Butler University. I graduated in 2014 with my bachelors degree in elementary education. This is my second year as a second grade teacher. Before I taught second grade, I was a fifth grade teacher for five years! I just got married last year, and my name change is new. Although I have it hyphenated in many places, please just call me Mrs. Barber to make it easier! I currently live in Broad Ripple with my husband. In my personal time I love to read, hike, cook, run, travel and play with my two cats, Merlin and Luna. I have been to some amazing places in my travels, including Thailand, Myanmar, Cuba, and Australia. I have trips to Ireland, Scotland, and Greece on hold until we can travel again, and I hope to run the Disney Mini Marathon in 2022. About Our Classroom
1. My first goal every day is for everyone in my class to feel safe. Please reach out to me if there is a problem that is causing your child to feel unsafe. 2. Learning is our focus every day. I want every student in my room to strive for and see their own growth. As a team we will set goals, and work together to make sure our room is a place where everyone can achieve their goals! 3. This year will be a very different one, and I want everyone to feel that there is open communication. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns. I take my job of caring for and educating your child very seriously and I am here for you as well. |
